Biography

Professor David Norris is the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Botswana, a position he has held since 2017. He holds a PhD in Animal Science (Quantitative Genetics and Animal Breeding) from Michigan State University, an MSc in Animal and Forage Science from the University of Reading, and a BSc in Biology and Physics from the University of Botswana. With extensive experience in academia and research leadership, he has previously served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation at BIUST, Director at the University of Limpopo, and Senior Research Officer in Botswana’s Ministry of Agriculture. Professor Norris’s work integrates scientific research, innovation, and higher education leadership, focusing on institutional transformation, capacity building, and linking research to national development priorities in agriculture and science.
