Honorable Prince Maele

Biography

Honourable Prince Maele is the founding Minister of Higher Education and a distinguished Member of Parliament for Tswapong North. A seasoned leader with a deep passion for human capital and skills development, he brings extensive experience from both the public and private sectors, having served as Minister of Lands and Housing, and later as Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services.
At the helm of the Ministry of Higher Education, Minister Maele provides strategic direction to position Botswana’s education system as a driver of innovation, skills development, and economic transformation. He is particularly passionate about transforming Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to better equip young people for the world of work and a proponent of access, inclusive and transformative higher education.
A graduate of the University of Botswana with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Public Administration, Minister Maele has also excelled as a Human Resources practitioner. He played a key role in founding the Institute of Human Resource Management of Botswana and led a consultancy firm offering high-level HR and organizational development solutions. He has extensive experience of work in the telecommunications, construction, training and medical insurance sectors
