Biography
Professor Otlogetswe Totolo is the Vice-Chancellor of the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) and an accomplished environmental and soil scientist. He holds a PhD from the University of London, an MSc from the University of Reading, and executive leadership training from Harvard and Oxford. Before joining BIUST in 2016, he held several leadership roles at the University of Botswana, including Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs) and Dean of Science. His research focuses on soil pollution, environmental management, and GIS applications, particularly in mining-impacted areas. As Vice-Chancellor, he has positioned BIUST as a research-intensive and innovation-driven university, promoting STEM education, industry partnerships, and research commercialization to support Botswana’s transition to a knowledge-based and diversified economy.
